THE DOG AND THE DUCK (2020) is a documentary feature created with AFI alumni Kristina Elminoufi (Cinematography), Danijel Sraka (producer), Arndt Peemoeller (Editing) and composer Cliff Retallick (original score), and the support of many incredible art lovers and friends.

This film is an intimate look inside the workings of a very special art studio: that of artist Joe Blaustein and his many students who have come to him for the past 60 years from all walks of life and have found with him their authentic voice.

At the age of 98, Blaustein continues to teach and inspire his students with his personal life, his stories, and his unique approach to expressionistic painting. This film is a tribute to him and to the power of making mistakes - in life and in art.
